just for shits and giggles here's who was spotted at the teacher convention:
Katrina, Amber, Claire, Brian, Amy, Anya, Felicia, Kaitlin (Art) Andrew, Sarah, Amy B., Kade (Music) Tiffany, Tammy, Jeff, Andrea, Joey, Liat, Blake (CTS)
I also saw Jenny (Social) and Colleen (English)
Everyone else must have been at the other end of the school, at a different conference, or not truly dedicated to the practice of teaching.

and I got an award for attendance:)
I agree with you Katrina, There are not a lot of people that take conferences seriously. I think that the more you learn only makes you stronger.
Whatever the kids in your class teach you is helpful, but conferences are adult minds to bond with. you find peers going through the same anxieties, and they too vacation in the tropics.
I hope to see others come out for the conferences, but you can lead a horse to water but...
(um my bad in the horse joke, none of y'all are horses)
high five!
things like convention and volunteering are always a struggle against apathy and life's pressure, but for those who do it, it's usually worth it...
The issue is one which has raised much discussion in the faculty recently.
My personal view (not universally shared) is that attendence not be mandatory -- those who are likely to benefit from it will find their way there; forcing those who don't want to be there to go just increases their cyncism.....
